What We Fund

We proudly support the vital, inspiring work of Seattle Children's Research Institute. At the forefront of pediatric medical research, Seattle Children's Research Institute has nine major centers, and is internationally recognized for its work in cancer, genetics, immunology, pathology, infectious disease, injury prevention and bioethics. It is among the top five pediatric medical research centers in terms of National Institutes of Health grant funding.

ICFC specifically funds Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research at Seattle Children's. The Center develops innovative, targeted therapies for curing childhood cancers, with the goal of reducing or eliminating the need for surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The Center also develops protocols for leukemia, neuroblastoma, brain cancers and sarcomas, which together account for eighty percent of deaths among children diagnosed with cancer.

In 2010 immunotherapy treatment for kids with cancer was just getting underway at Seattle Children's. Now, four years later the treatment is in clinical trials experiencing amazing results with real patient, rather than mice in the lab. Your gift will continue to move the needle forward and help more kids with varying types of cancer faster.
